My Story

My Education

Attended college at the University of Washington in 2008 and graduated in 2013 with a BA in Accounting & Minor in Finance.

Ernst & Young

I started an internship with Ernst & Young in Guam and in November of 2013, after returning to Guam I began working for them in the Tax & Accounting Department where I helped with tax returns, payroll, bookkeeping, GRT and creating Financial Statements.

2016 • July

Left Ernst & Young

I made the decision to leave my job with Ernst & Young to allow myself time to study & pass my CPA, while also raising my daughter.

2017 • December

Received my CPA

I passed my exam and became a CPA at the end of 2017! Shortly after, I received an offer from Deloitte and started my career with another Big 4 firm in January of 2018.

2022 • April

Started CK CPA Tax & Accounting

I made the decision to leave my job with Deloitte in 2022 when my dad was diagnosed and being treated for Cancer. He had to step away from his family business  and I stepped in to help manage it while he was off-island for treatments. With all of the knowledge that I had acquired managing my parents business and working for Big 4 Firms - I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own Tax & Accounting firm to come alongside and serve other small business owners.

What are the differences between an accountant and a certified public accountant?

An accountant works with financial records and helps both individuals and business with payroll, bookkeeping, and tax preparation.

A certified public accountant is an accountant who passes a rigorous exam and met the states requirements to become licenses.

CPA's offer more advanced services such as auditing, financial planning, and tax advice.
